Daniella Levine Cava became the first woman elected to Miami-Dade County Mayor in 2020. Since then, she included more than half a billion dollars in the county budget for affordable housing solutions, led the effort to adopt the County’s first Tenant Bill of Rights, and launched the Miami-Dade County Affordable Housing Trust Fund. Cava also developed the Miami-Dade Climate Action Plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across our County and has committed to build a plan to divert 90% of waste from landfills and incinerators by investing in zero waste management systems that reduce, reuse, and recycle.
