Travaris McCurdy was elected to the Florida House of Representatives (District 46) in 2020 and served until 2022. He went to Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL and holds a bachelor’s in political science. McCurdy is the former chief legislative aide to state senators Geraldine Thompson and Randolph Bracy and formerly served as the deputy political director for For Our Future. His community involvement includes serving as a former OCPS-ACE school board member and former West Lakes Partnership board member in addition to his membership with the NAACP and Orange County Democratic Black Caucus. He will continue to lead on the needs of the community in the areas of housing, environmental justice, and economic vitality in District 5.
